Here we have some pictures of housing and other buildings. The first group, 1 through 13, are from the little town of Tortuguero, isolated and much dependent on tourists frequenting the several tourist lodges nearby. It also is home to a research station that studies the green sea turtle. Photos 6-9 are of the town's school, and we happily noted the school's recycling point (Costa Rica is very interested in protecting the environment). Photos 15-22 are of an iron church in Grecia, brought in pieces from Europe and assembled where it now stands. (Someone decided iron would last longer in Grecia's climate.) Photos 23-25 are in the little town of La Fortuna. The remaining pictures are in San José. Photo 31 shows how private houses are usually protected by iron fencing in front of driveways, carports, windows, balconies (the house on the right), etc. This was pretty universal in cities and their outskirts. Photos 32 and 33 are from our hotel room in San José.
